Strategies to improve healthcare delivery and treatment for African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans and other underserved populations.
Welcome to the updated and exciting Healthcare Disparities and Chronic Kidney Disease website!

Abbott Renal Care and Healthcare Disparities Initiative (ARCHI) of Abbott Laboratories would like to welcome you to our updated web site offering the public, healthcare providers, clinicians and the scientific community information about Abbott's Renal Healthcare disparities activities. Healthcare disparities are one of the major challenges facing the entire healthcare industry. Compelling evidence exists that race and ethnicity correlate with persistent, and often increasing, health disparities. This site highlights programs, initiatives and research focused on improving the health statue of minority Americans and other underserved populations.

The mission of ARCHI is to conduct and support basic, clinical and behavioral research, emerging programs, training, and information dissemination aimed at reducing the disproportionately high incidence and prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease, burden of the illness, and mortality experienced by American populations who are disproportionately affected by health disparities. ARCHI's focus also includes racial and ethnic minorities and other groups, such as the urban and rural poor. Additionally, we develop innovative strategies/best clinical practices to improve healthcare delivery, education, disease management, prevention and treatment for Chronic Kidney Disease for African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asians and other underserved populations.

We welcome your input! Please send comments on the content of this Web Site.
